Over the last decade,
educators have increasingly recognized the importance of
grounding classroom teaching and learning in content
standards.
Recognzing the importance of content standards, the Avi
Chai Foundation asked the Melton Research Center for Jewish Education for a
set of standards for the teaching of Tanach in Jewish day schools.
This seminar helps teachers develop the capacity to use these standards
as they develop and implement their own curricula and lesson plans.
This workshop also helps teachers consider the relation
between Judaic and secular standards, in an attempt to deeply align the
material covered across the two halves of a curriculum of a Jewish day
school.
