Andrew Pass has been working in schools for nearly twenty years. He has taught from kindergarten to post-college graduates. Andy loves facilitating learning opportunities in which students, both children and adults, learn from one another. Andy’s students know that he loves telling dynamic stories. He loves kidding around and has been referred to as “the worst behaved kid” in the classroom. However, at the end of the day, Andy loves pushing people to think about important ideas in critical ways.

Andy is active in professional and community organizations. He is currently the representative for the Michigan Council of Social Studies Region 10 and is a member of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development and the National Council for Teachers of English. Within his place of worship, he is a former board member and a current member of the Men's Club Executive Committee. Each year Andy participates in a "Housing the Homeless" initiative, typically as a volunteer coordinator. He simply enjoys being a part of things and trying to make a difference.

Andy holds a secondary teaching certificate from the State of Texas and an undergraduate degree in Political Science from Columbia University. He has completed advanced doctoral work in Curriculum, Teaching and Educational Policy at Michigan State University. Andy wrote his dissertation on school improvement. Recently he wrote an article entitled, “Building Student Motivation Through A Consideration of Completed Student Work,” set to be published in the Spring edition of the Ohio Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development Journal. He is currently writing a book with a working title of “Leadership of Following” considering six essential actions that all effective followers, or “followers of excellence,” should pursue.
