Put Them on a Desert Island for a Week
Here's a suggestion: When two nations are about to go to war with one another, make them stop and send their heads of state to a vacated island, with nothing but the clothes they are wearing on their backs. Would such a program ease the chances of World War? What could be the negative consequences of such a program? By the way, I thought about this idea when reading this article on Iran's Uranium production.

Nope. Because war isn't about the difference between the two countries.
War today is a profitable industry employing hundreds of thousands of people in manufacturing and marketing.
Wars are started by world leaders at the request of people in this industry. People in this industry maintain a large lobby to ensure that political leaders move from crisis to crisis.
This war lobby also has access to significant media assets. These assets are used to foster the belief that there is a genuine difference between the peoples of the two nations.
In some cases, the war lobby also includes religious agencies, the leaders of which attempt to foster support for their faith by fostering a mistrust and hatred of other faiths.
If you stop and think about it seriously, you will realize that there is no real difference of opinion between Iran and the U.S.
Sure, Iran would like to obtain nuclear weapons.
After all, they are about the only nation of any size in the region that doesn't have them. India has them, Pakistan has them, China has them, Russia has them, Israel has them and the U.S. has them.
The U.S. is not really opposed to Iranian nukes. That's just a lie. The U.S. doesn't care - and is probably selling them the equipment they need to both fight a war and develop their own nukes.
